About Dr. Maurice Khosh
Dr. Maurice Khosh is the director of Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics at Columbia University- NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Center and an assistant professor at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. He is also the director of Facial Plastic Surgery at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital Center. Dr. Khosh is doubly certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology /Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Khoshs extensive training and experience grant him expert knowledge in the anatomy and physiology of the face, neck and skull region. This unique background enables him to expertly manage the most complex types of facial surgeries, be they reconstructive or cosmetic.
Dr. Khosh grew up in Atlanta and attended college at the University of Texas in Austin. He majored in electrical engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering and graduated with honors. After obtaining his graduate medical training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, he completed his residency training at the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York. He then pursued a fellowship in facial plastic surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Khosh then returned to New York to join the faculty at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital. In addition to his active surgical practice, Dr. Khosh maintains an active interest in clinical research and resident education. He was the recipient of the Abramson Resident Teaching Award in 2001. He has authored multiple articles and book chapters on facial plastic surgery, head and neck surgery, and medical lasers.
Dr. Khoshs non-academic interests have been in figure drawing, painting, and calligraphy. This background in life drawing, painting, and visual arts make him uniquely qualified as a surgeon in a field where aesthetics and functionality are equally important. His aim in cosmetic surgery is to create a natural and "non-operated" look that is harmonious with the overall appearance of each patient, and to do so in the safest and least invasive manner.
